Meet Us

Richard grew up in Richards Bay in Kwazulu Natal. He moved to Vredenburg on the West Coast in 1988 and attended Vredenburg High School and matriculated in 1990.   He worked for Club Mykonos for close to 20 years and during this time he had gone through the ranks and ended up as the General Manager of the commercial side of Mykonos. During his employment at Mykonos he obtained his Hotel Operation Management Diploma. Currently he resides in Vredenburg with his wife, Liezl and son (11) and daughter (8). Richard is a sport fanatic and is a very keen golfer. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Fourie was born in Tsumeb, Namibia and matriculated in 1996 at the Northern Cape Agricultural High School in Jankempdorp. After finishing his ranger course he moved to Langebaan in 1999. Fourie previously worked at Club Mykonos as operations controller and joined the Village & Life group in December 2011.
When not at work, you will find him fishing in the lagoon or enjoying life with his family and friends.

Friedelaine was born in Upington, Northern Cape and grew up in Vredenburg on the West Coast. She matriculated at Vredenburg High in 2004. She finished her two year International Tourism Course at Northlink College in 2006. Friedelaine loves being in the tourism industry and working with people. She joined the Village & Life in September 2011.

Monade grew up in Bellville, Cape Town. After matriculating at Bellviile High School in 2009 she studies Hospitality Management at the Cape Town Hotel School in Granger Bay. After living in Cape Town for 21 years she has recently moved to the West Coast to join the Village & Life team.

Monade loves the outdoors and cooking. If not at work you will find her at the beach or spending time with her friends and family.

Eric was born in Durbanand grew up in Paarl on a wine farm where he attended Labori High School and matriculated in 2009. After matric he joined Village & Life at Camps Bay Retreat and in April 2010 moved to The Farmhouse Hotel.

Eric loves being part of The Farmhouse Hotel team and living on the West Coast. He is a member of the Saldanha Bay Yacht Club and enjoys hobby sailing and photography.

Growing up on one of the oldest farms “Coenradenberg” in the Hopefield district, it's easy to see why Sarilize has that old world hospitality charm about her; hence the name Smiley has stuck with her since joining The Farmhouse Hotel in 1997. With 13 years experience and a Diploma in Public Relations, organizing a wedding or special function for our guests is done with farm-girl efficiency and unpretencious hospitality, leaving you spoiled and feeling cared for.

And when she’s not working, time is spend with family or rediscovering “Coenradenberg”

Dayyaan grew up in Westridge; Mitchell’s Plain and attended Westridge High School. After matric, he enrolled at Cape Peninsula University of Technology and studied towards a qualification in Internal Auditing. He pursued a career in accounting and worked at MWEB for over 3 years while studying part-time towards a qualification in Forensic Examinations at the University Of Western Cape. After working in accounting, he decided to work from home in the sales industry and submerged himself in personal development training and literature. Dayyaan joined Village & Life in May 2010 as the Hotel Accountant. He lives in Eerste River with his wife and coaches a senior cricket team; he is also a soccer fanatic whom supports Manchester United. Dayyaan plays baseball and was the Junior Western Province and South African Schools coach from 2001 – 2005.
